When you decide you want to make a change and try to do it all at once, you typically feel overwhelmed and quit, right? Yeah, me too. We didn’t learn to run until we learned to tie our shoes, right? So how about trying to make a change in a different way with less stress and more success? That’s how I am going about changing my career. For the past two years, I have been changing how I eat, working on my writing skills, reading all sorts of books and becoming certified as a health coach…..over two years. I started with just changing my breakfast food. That’s it. One small change….and I didn’t do anything else with my diet until I had my breakfasts mastered and felt 100% confident I could focus on something else. Do you think you could start with one small thing?
Think about it. What do you want to change the most? Is is what you eat? How you feel? The amount of sleep you get? Getting some exercise? Or getting some down time? Pick one thing. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Ok, got it? Now break down that one change to something really small. No, smaller. Ok, got it? Are you 100% sure you can work on just that one small change? Promise me you’ll just focus on that, ok? Great. In fact, write it down somewhere so in a few weeks you can check back with me to tell me how you did. I can’t wait to hear how it worked for you.
Great things typically start small.
