I’ve had it!
Motivated by a sick daughter with no “cure” in sight, I took her care into my own hands. Having just changed my nutrition and seeing unexpected results, I thought perhaps nutrition played a role in her illness too. I was skeptical, to be honest. I really didn’t think that nutrition could help her. You see, my daughter was pretty ill. Losing weight, grey, vomiting daily and just laying in bed…..
My fear drove me. The doctors ran every test they could think of and came up with nothing. “Everything seems to be functioning normal”. Frustrated, we turned to what she was struggling to do every day. Eating.
We first started by removing gluten from her diet, then dairy. That’s when the magic started to happen. Eating whole foods and eliminated processed (as much as you can for a 16 year old), made amazing differences for her. You can read our story here. In pursuing the right path for our daughter, I came across amazing studies, books and doctors who are also pursuing this amazing concept “the power of nutrition can impact your productivity”.
I love food. I love to cook and bake and love to eat. I like to try new foods. But I hate what I used to believe to be true about food. I am embarrassed at what I use to believe was OK to feed to my family. But then again, that was what I was taught. I used to believe that if it was in the grocery store or restaurant, the food was safe. Of course, I knew that feeding my kids mac-n-cheese and chicken nuggets every day wasn’t OK, but I never thought about what was actually in the food I was providing on a daily basis. I would like to share with you what I discovered.
